abu dhabi [UAE]January 18 (ANI/WAM): As part of the Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF), Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) in the field of developing new and innovative transport systems.
The first MoU involves considering the possibility of developing the Floc Duo Rail system, a dual-track system that allows transport units to move quickly and efficiently. The second MoU involves considering the possibility of developing a rail bus system that travels on bridges equipped with solar panels to generate the electricity needed to operate the system.
The two MoUs were signed with two companies that specialize in developing and manufacturing transport systems and designing zero-emission public transport solutions. The companies involved include UK-based Urban-Mass Company and US-based RAIL BUS Inc.
The two MoUs were signed by Abdul Mohsen Kalbat, CEO of RTA Railways, and Ricky Sandhu, founder and CEO of Urban Mass, signed on behalf of the company. In addition, Dr. Hatem Al-Taher Ibrahim, Director of Business Development, also signed a contract with Rail Bus Inc.
Abdul Mohsen Kalbat said: “The signing of these two MoUs is part of RTA’s strategic plan to engage with leading companies and professional entities in the field to identify and adopt the most complex and advanced practices. Currently, RTA is exploring a range of innovations in transportation systems including the world’s first innovative transportation system called “Floc Duo Rail”. The system uses dual tracks to allow transportation units to move quickly and efficiently through urban areas. It is a driverless system that uses electricity. The system uses short units during off-peak hours and long units during peak hours to efficiently meet the emirate’s needs. “
“Urban Mass’ second new transportation system features vehicles traveling on bridges equipped with solar panels. These panels use solar energy to power the system, ensuring its operation in Dubai. The system is distinguished by its modern design , and has the advantage of lower cost compared to similar transportation systems.”
“This initiative reflects RTA’s strategy to achieve sustainable development and improve the quality of life in the city. RTA reaffirms its commitment to employing the latest technologies and innovations in the transportation sector, thereby enhancing passenger experience in the Emirate of Dubai.”
Ricky Sandhu said: “The company believes that the commitment to introduce the Floc Duo Rail system in Dubai through this MoU is a big step forward.”
He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to sign the agreement and highlighted the advantages of the Floc Duo Rail system in reducing emissions and providing an efficient mode of transport driven by cutting-edge technology.
“The partnership between Urban Mass and Dubai RTA demonstrates the strong shared commitment of the UK and the United Arab Emirates to tackling climate change. This partnership aims to pave the way for sustainable public transport solutions through innovative technologies. Transform city traffic through the city.
Hatim Ibrahim, CEO of Railbus, said the partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority marks an important milestone in the company’s efforts to pioneer sustainable transportation solutions in Dubai. The partnership with RTA, a leader in urban mobility innovation, aims to set a new benchmark for sustainable mobility tailored to the unique needs of Dubai’s dynamic landscape.
The MoU signed by RAIL BUS Inc. and RTA is a testament to their shared vision to revolutionize urban transportation through cutting-edge environmentally friendly technologies. This collaboration marks a leap towards a green future and reinforces RAIL BUS Inc.’s determination to contribute to Dubai’s smart city vision and its commitment to sustainable urban development.
