Dubai: As part of its participation in UAE Innovation Month, the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) organized a high-intensity hackathon at the Dubai Youth Center at Emirates Towers. The event, co-hosted by technology and applications leader SAP and the Free Trade Zone’s strategic partner in driving digital transformation, demonstrated a synergy of ideas.
During the event, the FTA showcased innovative projects and technological solutions designed to address challenges in various areas of taxation. The speech also emphasized the strengthening of cooperation and partnership frameworks between government, private and educational entities.
After the launch of the hackathon, the free trade zone received 15 projects aimed at raising social tax awareness, using cutting-edge technology to simplify procedures, facilitate tax filing by small and medium-sized enterprises, and combat tax evasion. Participants come from a variety of backgrounds and include developers, programmers with varying technical skills, college students bringing new perspectives, entrepreneurs, business owners, government representatives, and community members well-versed in tax policy and financial legislation. The event attracted many innovative ideas and high-quality projects.
His Excellency Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director-General of the Federal Tax Authority, reiterated the authority’s commitment to developing and implementing innovative projects and measures that utilize advanced technologies. FTA will evaluate submitted projects and solutions to determine the top three innovative solutions.
