Indian cybersecurity startup Prikus Tech has raised $6.2 million in a seed round of funding, which will be used to launch PrikSec, a unified penetration testing as a service (PTaaS) platform that meets enterprise penetration testing needs.
Since its inception in 2018, the company has built a strong base in India and currently has over 30 employees and 50 paying customers across banking, computer software and government verticals. Prikus Tech aims to use the funding to fuel its rapid growth and the investment will be used for product innovation, team and expanding the company’s enterprise customer base in India, UAE, US and European markets.
Prikus Tech takes a hybrid approach, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), automation and human penetration testers (also known as ethical hackers) to provide penetration testing services. Unlike other security products on the market, Prikus Tech’s artificial intelligence and automation are not designed to replace humans in the value chain. However, artificial intelligence can help scale up human penetration testers, allowing them to focus on finding more serious security vulnerabilities. In doing so, Prikus Tech offers a unique SaaS-based penetration testing product that is comprehensive, fast, and scalable.
“Our customers are investing millions of dollars to expand their application domains and expand their cloud operations. This poses a huge challenge to continuous security posture management, and traditional penetration testing that relies entirely on humans cannot handle this speed. and scalability challenges.” said Prameel Arjun, founder and CEO of Prikus Group. He further added: “Prikus’ focus on hybrid approaches resonates well with our clients and helps them move beyond consultancies or crowdsourced solutions. We are honored to have venture capitalists and individual investors at seed support in this round of funding and share my vision to revolutionize the traditional approach to penetration testing.”
