Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has launched Mobtakir, a maker diploma and fast-track program that provides entrepreneurs with the knowledge, practical skills and local market knowledge to start product-based businesses.
The diploma course will start on May 27, in partnership with Colab, and will initially run for seven weeks until mid-July before resuming in early September 2023.
According to the Dubai Media Office, applicants have until May 20 to submit applications for non-technical diplomas.
This diploma is accredited by KHDA and aims to provide standardized qualifications and local approaches to nurture innovation organically starting from individual entrepreneurs.
The diploma consists of 14 modules and workshops, which will be delivered by technical experts from different industries at various venues in Al Quoz.
Highlights of Mobutakil
Mobtakir is part of the Al Quoz Creative District and was designed in collaboration with Mobtakir Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (Dubai SME), one of the companies under the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).

The diploma includes the development of soft and hard skills in three main areas, culminating in the implementation of learning through a “marcassonne” competition between assigned groups and assigned projects.

Mobtakir aims to raise awareness of prototyping technologies, resources, knowledge and skills that are increasingly available to the average non-technical person, with a particular focus on the capabilities provided by Al Quoz.
Applications are currently open free of charge to all residents of the UAE, including students, professionals, small business owners or employees who lead entrepreneurial or innovative activities in their organizations.
