As the UAE marks 2023 as the Year of Sustainability, Wasl has installed more than 22,000 photovoltaic panels across 44 buildings, adding more than 11 GWh of grid capacity each year. The plan is aligned with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 plan and is being implemented in partnership with Etihad ESCO.
The program has exceeded expectations, underlines Wasl’s dedication to clean energy solutions and is in line with the UAE’s wider sustainability goals.

The solar energy generated will offset 4,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, which is equivalent to taking 2,200 cars off the road or powering 900 Dubai homes for a year. Wasl’s participation in the 25th edition of WETEX and DSS aims to accelerate clean energy measures in line with the UAE’s net zero goals and the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.
Salem AlNuaimi, Acting Director of Asset Management Services and Solutions at Wasl, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and improving the lives of residents in the Wasl community.
The company’s presentation will highlight sustainable real estate development, food tech valleys, solar photovoltaics and energy retrofits, in line with Wasl’s overall goals of reducing its carbon footprint and improving community well-being.
